Rekordbox tool

Find your orphan tracks.

I got a little frustrated when I realized there's no built-in way to see which tracks live in your Rekordbox library but aren't in any playlist. Every problem asks for a solution, so that is why I built this tool to check instantly which tracks are unused, so you can organize your library, clean up duplicates, and save some space.

Drop your Rekordbox XML here

In Rekordbox: File → Export Collection in xml format

How it works

  1. In Rekordbox: File → Export Collection in xml format.
  2. Drag the resulting rekordbox.xml onto the upload area above.
  3. Every track in your collection is compared against every playlist.
  4. You get a list of tracks that aren't used anywhere, ready to clean up, repurpose, or set aside.

🔒 Your XML is parsed locally in your browser and never sent to a server. Only the orphan list and your email address are sent so we can deliver the CSV. Your full collection stays private.

Frequently asked questions

What are orphan tracks in Rekordbox?

Orphan tracks are tracks that exist in your Rekordbox collection but have never been added to a playlist. They are imported, analyzed, and taking up space, but invisible during your DJ workflow because no playlist references them.

How do I find unused tracks in Rekordbox?

Rekordbox does not have a built-in filter for this. Export your collection as XML (File → Export Collection in xml format) and use the Rekordbox Orphan Track Finder above. It compares every track against every playlist and returns the ones not used anywhere.

Is my Rekordbox library uploaded to a server?

No. Your XML file is parsed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server. Your collection stays on your computer at all times.

Why do I have so many tracks not in any playlist?

This usually happens when tracks are imported without being sorted into a playlist, when tracks are removed from a playlist but not deleted from the collection, or when older imports from USB sticks were never organized.

Can I use this tool to clean up my Rekordbox collection?

Yes. Once you have the orphan list, you can decide which tracks to move into existing playlists, archive, or remove from Rekordbox entirely.

Does this work with Rekordbox 6 and 7?

Yes. The XML export format works with both Rekordbox 6 and Rekordbox 7. The export option is in the same place: File → Export Collection in xml format.

How do I export my Rekordbox collection as XML?

Open Rekordbox, click File in the top menu, choose Export Collection in xml format, and save the file anywhere on your computer. Then drag it into this tool.
